As exercise is becoming more fashionable and talked about online and social media there is now a huge amount of information circulating about different diets and supplements. It can seem very overwhelming and difficult to know where to start.
When you look online there seems to be many products avaliable that claim to do certain things. The overwhelming question is “which one do I choose?”
This review article hopes to break down My Protein’s Thermopure into it’s component parts and why it may be useful to add to your regime.
Getting out of bed in the morning to exercise can seem like an impossible feat some days. When you’re feeling groggy and it’s cold outside exercise may be the last thing crossing your mind.
Wouldnt it be nice if there was a little something to help give you a boost out of your warm bed and into the gym?
Thermopure is a product designed by My Protein to give you that energy surge you need before a workout. This can be especially useful on a cold morning but can be taken before your workout at any time of day.
It helps you feel alert, active and supports fat loss.
Fat loss is a loose term and sounds very exciting on the surface. I would like to point out that this product won’t work if you do not couple it with a healthy balanced diet and exercise plan. To learn more about diet see my posts on macros and calories.
The Ingredients and How They Work
Green Tea Extract
The top listed ingredient is green tea extract. Green tea contains two elements that help with alertness and fat burning.
One is caffiene and the other is epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG).
Caffiene works in our bodies to improve alertness, it releases catecholamines (like adrenaline) into the blood and this causes our heart rate to increase, more blood flows to our muscles and our cognition improves. You feel awake and ready to move. EGCG has been shown to prevent the breakdown of these catecholamines so the affects of them linger on.
So this is a good start, you now feel more awake and your blood is pumping ready for a workout.
The next ingredient is L-tyrosine. This is an amino acid that is needed to make catecholamines, this makes sense why it would be included in the ingredients to help the onset of effects of the caffiene.
Some people find that caffiene sets of anxious thoughts and makes them feel edgy. This is because the body feels ready for activity so has a hightened awareness of potnetial threats and danger. Your natural endorphins from working out itself is usually enough to settle this. For that period before the workout, the next ingredient can really help.
It’s called L-theanine and it is another form of amino acid. It helps you to relax but doesn’t add a drousy feeling so works well alongside the green tea. It helps reduce the anixety that comes with stimulation from caffiene.
Cayenne pepper is another compenent of thermopure. The key element here is capsaicin which is the part of the chilli that makes it taste so spicy.
Long term use has been linked with stimulation of muscle protein synthesis and improved endurance.
It has also been shown to reduce the deposition of triglycerides so stops fat building up in the body and helps oxidise fat so burns it into useful energy.
This helps promote fat loss when you workout so can help shift those extra pounds.
Finally I want to mention vitamin B6. Vitamin B6 helps with the production of heamoglobin which is an important component of our red blood cells. It binds oxygen to carry it from our lungs all around the body to where we need it.
When you exercise you need a good oxygen delivery system to your muscles to allow them to function and grow properly. Low levels of B6 have been linked to high levels of an amino acid called homocystiene which causes narrowing of blood vessels. It is important to get adequate levels of vitamin B6 to help protect you from heart disease risks that come with this as well as to help improve exercise performance.
How To Use Theromopure
The best times to take thermopure is 45 minutes to 1 hours before exercise. This gives your body time to absorb it so you will feel the effects as you start your workout.
Be wary of taking thermopure too close to bedtime as caffiene can disrupt your sleep cycle (even up to 4 hours before bed).
It is best taken with a glass of water to ensure your body is hydrated to allow optimum performance.
Thermopure has plenty of benefits but it is important to not mix it with other supplements that contain high levels of caffiene. Caffiene is very beneficial in certain amounts but too much of it can lead to agitation, your heart racing, anxiety and even heart palpitations. If you have any medical conditions that make you sensitive to caffiene’s effects then consult your doctor before using thermopure.
So in summary, thermopure has quite a few listed ingredients but the key one is caffiene. Most of the rest work to enhance it’s effects. This is what leaves your body and mind feeling so alert and ready to exercise. Thermopure is excellent to give you a boost and help stimulate fat loss but to get maximum benefits it must be taken alongside a healthy balanced diet.
